It works out what matters today, and why

Say what is going on in your own words. Sidecar sorts out what matters now, what is slipping and what to do next, with the reason showing.

The problem

Your tools hold things, nothing decides

A calendar holds the dates you typed in. A list holds the jobs you remembered to write down. Neither one weighs itself against the other, and neither notices the friend you have not called since spring, the card still on the hall table, or the goal that stalled in February. So the deciding falls to you, late in the evening, out of four places at once.

It decides what comes first, and says why

Today opens as one ranked list, headed by the single thing to do now, with what is slipping below it. Every line carries its reason underneath.

Tell it in your own words

Type an errand, a birthday, a booking or a next step the way you would say it, and it lands as a task, a dated item or a goal step.

What it will do

A copilot for the whole of your life, made for busy UK professionals and parents: tell it what is going on, and it works out today for you.

Sidecar: The people side, held beside the tasks

The people side, held beside the tasks

Birthdays, cards still to send, gift notes, and a flag on anyone you have not been in touch with for a while, all in one list.

Errands with a deadline, and without

Jobs with a date sit beside the ones that just need doing sometime, so nothing has to be given a made-up deadline to be held.

Bookings, each with its date and status

Appointments, tables and trips, every one carrying where it stands, so what is actually booked and what is still an intention are told apart.

Goals in steps, plus a someday list

Each goal breaks into steps you can see. Anything with no date yet waits on the someday list instead of crowding today.

Works from the calendar you already keep

On Plus, Sidecar reads your Google Calendar and Google Contacts, so it starts from the dates you have. Read-only, so it never writes to them.

How it will work

What using it will look like

  1. Tell it what is going on

One box takes an errand, a birthday, a booking or a next step in plain words, and it lands in the right part of the app.

  2. It works out the order

Today comes back as one ranked list: what matters now at the top, what is slipping underneath, and a short reason beside each line.

  3. Read the top line and get on

One decided answer rather than a dashboard to interpret. The reason is there if you would rather do something else with your evening.

  4. Connect Google when you want to

On Plus, Sidecar reads your Google Calendar and Google Contacts, read-only, and the privacy screen names every place your data goes.

Who it is for

Built for the people who feel the problem

For who it covers, see the pages this site publishes.

Working parents

The card that needs posting by Tuesday

The birthday, the card and the gift note are held together, and the day the card needs posting comes up on today with the birthday as its reason.

Busy professionals

Bookings you keep meaning to make

The dentist, the car, the table for Friday. Each arrangement carries its date and status, so what is booked and what is still an intention are told apart.

Google Calendar users

Your calendar read, never rewritten

On Plus, Sidecar works from the Google Calendar and Contacts you already keep, read-only, and the privacy screen names anything that leaves your device.

Long game keepers

The goal that stalled in February

Goals break into steps, and the next step takes its place in the day's order. Anything with no date yet waits on the someday list.

Questions

Answers before you ask

What is Sidecar?

A copilot for your own life. You tell it what is going on in your own words, and it works out what matters now, what is slipping and what to do next, with the reason under each line. It holds errands, people, bookings and goals in one place, and it is built for busy UK professionals and parents.

How does it work out what to do next?

It reads what you have told it: the dates on your errands and bookings, the steps under your goals, and the people whose last contact has lapsed. From that it ranks what matters now and what is slipping, and puts the reason in a clause under each line. The ranking is recomputed on a batched schedule as your data changes.

Is there an iPhone app and a home screen widget?

Not yet. Today Sidecar is a phone-first web app you open in your browser, and it has a widget preview screen showing the 'now' and 'coming up' content. A native iPhone app and real home screen widgets are what we are building towards, and there is no App Store listing at this stage.

Will Sidecar nudge me when something is due?

No. There are no push notifications, emails or texts from the app. Everything sits on the today view and the widget preview screen, so what you read is whatever is true at the moment you open it.

What does it cost?

There is a Free plan at no cost, with tasks and errands, three people entered by hand and one goal. Plus is £6.99 a month, adds the read-only Google Calendar and Contacts connection and more goals, and annual billing saves about 28%. Checkout is handled by Stripe, monthly or annual.

What can Sidecar see of my Google account, and where does it go?

On Plus it reads your Google Calendar and Google Contacts, read-only, so it cannot write to them, edit them or delete anything. A privacy screen in the app names the exact recipients, Google and OpenAI, and the data categories that leave your device. The same detail sits in the privacy notice, so you can read it before connecting anything.

Can my partner or family share an account?

Not for now. Sidecar accounts are single-user, so it holds one person's errands, people, bookings and goals. Shared and family use is not part of this build.

Can I use Sidecar for health or medical notes?

No. Sidecar is not a health or medical product and makes no claims of that kind. Onboarding asks you to acknowledge, before capture is switched on, that you will not enter medical or diagnostic information in free-text fields, and the privacy policy carries the same exclusion.
